Any time you have the words, ooey, gooey and butter all together in one recipe you KNOW it has to be good! The recipe I have for you today is no exception. I can remember my mother making these when I was a little girl. They were my favorites then and now, that I am a big girl, they are still my favorites!

I have made these a thousand times and used them many times for catering jobs and they are a hit 100% of the time. I am telling you, if you make these for your family, they will sing your praises. Better yet, if you make them for you boss, you are sure to get a raise! If you are running for political office, and serve these to people when you shake their hands, you will be elected into office! Ok…..maybe not that good.

One word of warning. These are NOT figure friendly and they can be addicting. I have never been able to eat just one…..or just three for that matter, so beware!

Ooey gooey butter cake:

1 box butter recipe cake mix
1 stick melted butter
1 egg

Mix the above ingredients by hans and press into a 9×13 pan

1 lb. Powdered sugar
1 8 oz. Cream cheese
2 eggs
1 t. Vanilla

Mix the above ingredients with a hand mixer until well combined. Pour over the crust and bake for 50 min at 350 degrees.

Let cool completely before you cut them. These don’t always look real pretty but I assure you, no one will care!

Hint: I add a little extra powd. sugar in mine so they will be a little firmer and easier to cut. ( maybe 1/2 cup more)

Hope you enjoy them as much as we do 🙂
