wpid-20150129_105556.jpg Last night I demonstrated to over 250 Daniel Plan followers, how to make their own baked tortilla chips. A healthy and delicious way to satisfy that inner chip monster without all of the added oil and preservatives. The feedback I got back from the group was nothing short of amazing. Many of them were eager to go home and make their own baked chips, and just in time for their Super Bowl party too 😉

BAKED TORTILLA CHIPS

1 package organic corn tortillas (use gluten free if needed)
Olive oil spray
Sea salt
Garlic powder, chili-garlic salt or cumin (optional)

HERE’S HOW I DID IT:

With a sharp knife cut the stack of corn tortillas into quarters or eights.wpid-20150129_101355.jpg

I cut mine in eights because…well…that’s the way I roll.wpid-20150129_101432.jpg

On a foil lined cookie sheet lay the cut tortillas out in a single layer.wpid-20150129_101701.jpg

If you fashion them in a clever design they taste better. Trust me.wpid-20150129_101642.jpg

Next spray them with olive oil spray. I used Bertolli but any spray olive oil will work.wpid-20150129_101956.jpg

Once the chips are misted with the olive oil, sprinkle them with sea salt. At this stage you could add your choice of seasonings. Get creative! Add garlic powder, cumin, chili powder or whatever your chip-a-holic heart desires.wpid-20150129_102211.jpg

Bake at 350° for 7-10 minutes, then turn them over and bake 7-10 minuets more.

These are some I made last night. Pay no attention to the dark ones in the middle, they were left in the tanning bed a little too long 😉 Over 900 chips were made and enjoyed by our wonder Daniel Plan group!wpid-20150128_124250.jpg
